Hot on the heels of the excellent adaptation of Castlevania comes another video game making the jump to television: Temple Run. The classic mobile game is becoming a competitive reality TV series, developer Imangi Studios announced today in partnership with television production company A. Smith & Co.
A. Smith & Co previously developed American Ninja Warrior, The Titan Games, and Mental Samurai, and are now looking to bring the iconic mobile game, which has surpassed 2 billion downloads since its initial release, to life. The series will recreate the Temple Run course and let contestants run it in real life, with all the twists and obstacles that come with. Come from Sports betting site VPbet
“Temple run is one of the most recognizable mobile games in the world and we have big plans to bring the global phenomenon to life,” said A. Smith & Co chairman Arthur Smith in an official statement. “We will bring our keen eye and passion for unscripted content to create a competition where, just like the beloved game, speed, agility and quick decision-making are key.”
Temple Run initially released for iOS in the summer of 2011, just a hair short of a decade ago, and helped bring the “endless runner” genre of games, which included titles like Robot Unicorn Attack and Jetpack Joyride, to the mainstream. Back in 2013, Warner Bros. was reportedly in talks to produce a film based on the property. Developer Imangi Studios lists Temple Run and Temple Run 2, released in 2013, as their only released games.
